Travel for fun, not for likes!

Hi, I’m Paul Cann and together with my wonderful wife, Jo, we are Cann-Do Travel. Don’t worry, we aren’t some travel agent (though our friends say we should be!), we are just a couple who love travelling and have been lucky enough to visit many wonderful places throughout our lives. We are now in our mid-50’s, recently retired from corporate life, and intend to do a lot more travelling (though a little slower and longer than in the past).

We started travelling a long time before social media and influencers were a thing. We travel for fun, not for “likes”. We don’t care what some teenage influencer thinks is cool. Quite the opposite, if the crowd turns right, we probably turn left. We have back-packed and we have travelled in luxury, and everything in-between. We’ve used airline points and hotel upgrades. We’ve travelled on a budget and we’ve splashed the cash. But most of all we have appreciated the experiences, the people, the food, and the often stunning places.

Now we have a little more time on our hands, we thought we would share some of our travels, hints and tips, things that are great, and things that are not so good. If you are after the next hot picture to put on your Instagram account, we probably aren’t for you. If you want some sensible advice based on real experience, it may be worth sticking around…

Oh, and this picture is of Jo and me on a whale watching trip off Juneau, Alaska. It was fabulous. We were on a small boat (max 6 passengers) and saw humpback whales and a pod of orcas.
